Helicopter Parenting. Free Range Parenting. Sharenting. The names go on and on. We all reap rewards and pay the price for whichever philosophy we adopt. What happens when we don’t adopt a philosophy at all?

To what lengths do we go to protect our children? At what point is it important to recognize that a parent’s job is to facilitate and help the child to connect with responsibility for their own actions?

Our frustrating, paradoxical culture simultaneously disdains helicopter parenting and rings the alarm over children left to walk alone.
