Erin Pizzey is the founder of the first women's shelter—Chiswick Women's Aid, now called Refuge—in 1971. She has spent her career working to aide victims of domestic violence, and now runs White Ribbon Project. Pizzey's work has come under controversy as she claims that domestic violence is reciprocal, rather than a gendered crime.
