The subject of infertility is very private in our circles; it is just not something that is talked about in the open. I didn’t even tell my Hasidic parents.

As someone who went through six years of infertility and who’s now in therapy for it, please stop telling people going through infertility to just relax.

A blocked fallopian tube? No wonder I wasn’t getting pregnant; hello! My eggs were floating around with no sperm to greet them.

Trying to conceive puts enormous stress on couples. We could go to the gym and achieve huge physical feats together as we started climbing the rock walls.

I’m not here to scream from the other side of my parenting choice. What I want is for women’s choices regarding fertility to be supported, full stop.

What I’ve found there is sometimes amusing, sometimes helpful, sometimes exactly the support I’ve needed, and sometimes downright paranoia inducing.

Once the tiny 3D printed ovary was built, scientists were able to put living tissue harvested from mice into it — specifically, the follicles holding eggs — and implant the whole thing into a living mouse.
