CFDA Names Patrick Janelle Best Instagrammer, But We Love These 5 Fashion Photogs Even More

The CFDA got all gussied up last night to honor the best in American fashion, and this year they introduced a new award for the digital age: Instagrammer of the Year, which recognizes the account that’s presented the best fashion shots over the past year. The winner was announced on Friday, and it’s New York City-based graphic designer/art director Patrick Janelle, better known on Instagram as @aguynamedpatrick.

Not surprisingly, Janelle was the official Instagrammer of the event, so if you're not already following him. Do it. Now! And while you’re at it, follow these other inspirational fashion influencers as well. While we love Janelle’s dapper outfits, New York City nostalgia and jealousy-inducing food shots, these ladies make up our top picks for most likely to inspire.

Amy Stone, @amy_stone

One of the CFDA’s finalists for Instagrammer of the Year, Stone works on Gap’s social media team. Her simple, composed pictures with color palettes of sun-bleached pastels oscillate between the beach and the city, with some all-American fashion thrown in for good measure.

Kate Young, @kystyle

Want the inside track to Natalie Porman and Michelle Williams’ style? Just follow their stylist! Kate Young. The former Voguette styles celebrities and campaigns for Dior and Jason Wu, so her Insta feed is chock full of behind-the-scenes shots, product close-ups and beautiful vintage inspiration.

Natalie Joos, @jxxsky

Casting director turned street style star, Natalie Joos is known for her mix-and-match vintage ensembles. Her blog, Tales of Endearment, chronicles her wardrobe, dating life, travels (she's originally from Belgium) and NYC muses, but her Instagram feed is the true star with vintage photographs of Cher, floral arrangements and fashion’s best parties.

Charlie May, @charliemay

For a refreshing take on minimalism, tune into London-based fashion designer Charlie May. Dressing almost exclusively in black and white, Charlie’s style is androgynous, fuss-free and is a master class in mixing high and low fashion. A food lover, May’s diet of “art food” is enough to make us want to move to London.

Giovanna Battaglia, @batgio

Another street style star, Giovanna Battaglia is a former model turned stylist. When she’s not working for W and Vogue Japan, she’s posting cheeky Beyoncé fan art, fashion sketches and international art exhibits.
