Carol Weis

Bio

Carol Weis started writing poetry and children’s stories when she got sober, as a way of helping her to heal. Her work as a freelance writer has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Good Housekeeping, Cosmo, Women’s Day, xoJane, Salon, The Fix, The Manifest-Station, and other venues, and has been read as commentary on NPR. She recently participated in a BBC live radio discussion on parenthood and alcoholism on World Have Your Say. She's the author of the poetry chapbook, Divorce Papers, and the children's book, When the Cows Got Loose, and is currently working on a memoir about her substance use and recovery. When Carol's not writing, she's adding steps to her Fitbit, eating chocolate, or out riding her bike and taking photos that she shares on FB and Twitter.
