Guess Who’s Coming to Twitter? The CIA!

America’s premier intelligence agency, the CIA, has decided to put secrecy aside and openly engage with the public.

Waiting for the punchline? Ok, so spy-transparency is a pipedream, but the agency has joined the modern age by establishing it’s very own Twitter account. CIA director John Brennan personally verified this move, saying the agency will “provide information on CIA’s mission, history, and other developments. We have important insights to share, and we want to make sure that unclassified information about the Agency is more accessible to the American public that we serve . . .”

We’re honestly intrigued about what sort of PR statements the secretive organization will make on Twitter. Pro-drone messages? Reminders of the evils of communism? Happy birthday messages to John Brennan?

If the first tweet is any indication, the CIA may even be tongue-in-cheek in their public messaging:

Who says intel organizations don’t have a sense of humor?
