John Oliver is a clever bloke. After years of providing humor and criticism on The Daily Show, he’s on to excoriating people and institutions on his new show, Last Week Tonight. All with his trademark British wit, of course.
And like a good Brit, Oliver is also a die-hard soccer fan. As such, GQ challenged the TV host with a bit of soccer trivia by presenting a list of absurd soccer player names, leaving Oliver to guess which are real and fake. As it turns out, with many of the names, the truth is stranger than fiction (yes, there is in fact a “Dick Tickler”), and Oliver does a bit of stumbling in his conjectures. Nevertheless, his reasoning and post-guess commentary don't disappoint. Tally-ho!
