#RavsRecipes: Wintery Hot Toddy

"There is something inherently good about hot liquor." Amen.

"There is something inherently good about hot liquor." Amen.

Winter is no longer coming; winter is here. And so are all of the crappy seasonal illnesses and post-Holiday blues. It leaves many of us wondering if this is indeed real life.

It is.

People are dropping like flies, and if you're like me and many of my friends, you need a little extra love right now. It's par for the course, right? Soothing warmth from the inside out to help ease your aches and pains, help you rest, and stop coughing.

Hot toddies are just the ticket for just about anything that ails you. (Except if you shouldn't have alcohol. I'm not your mom or anything, but if this isn't good for you then don' even think about trying this.) Are you cold? Drink this. Are you sick? Drink this. Do you feel like the world is too cruel and you live in dread of inauguration day? DRINK THIS.

There is something inherently good about hot liquor.

This hot toddy recipe is my favorite because it uses everything I already have in my pantry and I don't have to work hard to keep ingredients handy. I also like extra lemon.

Ingredients:

2 oz whiskey

3 oz lemon juice

4 oz hot water

1-2 Tbsp honey or honey syrup

Splash of bitters

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in a mug and stir. Keep in your favorite mug, put it in your thermos, or fill up your flask.

Feel the warmth from the inside out. And remember: Winter doesn't last forever.
